In December 2016, we celebrated a thrilling milestone : 100 companies were using Lexop. We reached that number 10 months after our beta launch. It was a magical day.
Fast forward a year, and today we’ve reached 1000 !
A thousand companies from two industries (soon to be 3) trust Lexop with their most important communications. It’s an exhilarating feeling knowing that a small idea initially sketched on a napkin in the hallways of a law firm (I was a junior lawyer when the idea of Lexop was born), has grown into an indispensable tool anchored in the everyday workflow of our customers.
These industries rely heavily on document delivery: legal, real estate, and debt collection. They use fax, registered mail, courier services, and bailiffs everyday for their business needs. That’s because they trust paper. They can see it, touch it, and file it. We believe that in today’s world, that same trust should apply to electronic communications. This means giving people access to reliable tools that offer the peace of mind they need in order to take the digital leap. Enter Lexop.
The platform was initially introduced for the legal industry as a one-stop-shop for lawyers to serve documents, share large files, execute contracts, and collect documents securely.
Later, a new industry for which we never expected to have any value proposition for emerged almost by accident: real estate.
And it just so happens that there is a significant pain point when it comes to landlord-tenant communications. Of the 120 million residents who rent in North-America, most still receive notices delivered to them by hand, by registered mail, or via bailiff. For a landlord with only 2 or 3 units, Lexop is not really a necessity. But bump that number up to 10+ and Lexop becomes very attractive. Now imagine 500 units! As such, when we present our solution as an evolved, faster, and cheaper means of reaching tenants, all we see in the audience are smiles and nods of approval.
We often give the impression that we are a much bigger company, and that’s thanks to my partners: our Head of Growth and cofounder Jean-Olivier “The Eye” Bouchard with his keen sense for detail, design, and metrics, and our Chief Technology Officer, Michel Jamati, whose knowledge, experience, and frustrating brand of logic elevated our product to where it is today.
It’s been a great year indeed. I can’t wait for lucky number 10,000!
